Tradition

History:

The industry of "Posamenten" (passements/ trimmings) developed from handcraft of passements which has already been operated in the 13th century in Nuernberg and Augsburg as can be proved.
Still in the 18th century the handmade passements were market by publishers and travelling merchants. In 1840 the first factories and with them the industry of passements developed.
For the interest of the whole production of passements it appears practical that the numerous pattern and techniques were keep up, developing over centuries in imaginative work. Both the old should be preserved and as well as today typical pieces of work with passements done by hand.
The manual labour is cradle and origin of the manufacture of passements. They give space for designs full of variety, combinations of colour and shape. They are approach and crossing for the arts and crafts products.
The wealth of possible combinations within the manual made products as well as the combination with industrial made pieces of products blocked a standard until today, one uniform kind of speech and a regulation of note very much.

Tradition:

The production of braids, ribbons, fringes, stripes, belts, buttons, belts, tassels, cords, laces, ... short: the production of passements has a very old tradition on the upper "Erzgebirge" (ore mountain range). Gold and silver-goods of the "Erzgebirge" had a world-wide reputation because of their quality, brilliance, variety of the platters.

The aim of my firm "Posamenten Syndi Lasch" is to perpetuate this tradition successfully.
